Huawei on Monday announced that it generated sales revenues of 175.9 billion yuan in the first half of the year, an increase of 30% on the same period in 2014.
The Chinese vendor also said it recorded an operating margin of 18% in the period, but did not provide any further 1H numbers.
"In the first half of 2015, Huawei achieved stable and healthy growth in all of its three business segments," said Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, in a brief statement.
The company maintained steady growth in its biggest segment, the carrier business, Meng said.
"Investment continued to pour into 4G network construction in China," she explained. "In addition, the growth in global data traffic drives investment in network capacity expansion, while carriers’ digital transformation pushes up investment in the ICT industry."
The carrier business accounted for 66.6% of Huawei’s CNY288.2 billion sales revenues in full-year 2014.
Its second largest operating segment, the consumer business, accounted for 26% last year, and Meng’s comments suggest it also performed well in the first six months of this year.
"Huawei’s mid-range and high-end smartphones, Mate7 and P8 in particular, as well as Honor-branded phones, have made solid progress, helping us guarantee quality and sustainable growth in the consumer business," Meng said.
She also said that "growth in the enterprise business began to pick up in the first half of this year," thanks to Huawei’s work with smart city, finance education and ISP customers in China and overseas.
"With Huawei’s well-balanced, worldwide presence, we are confident that we will maintain effective growth and steady and healthy development in all business segments in 2015," the CFO said.
