As Asia’s major telcos make the news, Total Telecom reveals the finalists for this year’s Asia Communication Awards.
This week at Total Telecom we have been focusing heavily on the Asian telecoms market.
The vibrancy and diversity of the world’s most populous region showed clearly in the news highlights. While Bharti bulked up in India, rumours suggested Telenor could be seeking a market exit. As Thailand named the date for its 4G licence re-auction, Malaysia’s webe inched towards becoming a new LTE operator. And the regulators had their say too: Australia’s ACCC expressed concerns over Telstra’s role in the NBN project, while South Korea’s mobile operators faced the consequences of last year’s smartphone subsidies row.
But making headlines is not the only way to get noticed in this industry. Every year, Total Telecom rewards the most innovative and forward-thinking players in the telecoms space in the Asia-Pacific at the Asia Communication Awards. And this year’s gala dinner and awards ceremony is looming large: the winners will be announced on 1 June in Singapore. Put it in your diary!
