Netia this week announced that it has dismissed its recently-appointed chief executive Pawel Szymanski.
The Polish fixed-line operator did not give a reason for getting rid of Szymanski, who took the reins on 1 April, having previously served as the company’s chief financial officer. He took the top job after his predecessor Adam Sawicki left to join T-Mobile Polska as its new chief executive.
He will be replaced on an interim basis by Netia board member Boguslawa Matuszewska. Her tenure as leader will officially begin on 6 July and will last for no more than three months, expiring on 6 October at the latest, Netia said in a statement.
Szymanski’s stay at Netia has been brief. He joined the company as its CFO in September last year, having previously worked in financial posi tions at a variety of Polish companies, as well as Schroders and Citigroup in London.
Netia did not comment on its plans to find a permanent successor for Szymanski.
