The sale of Nokia’s Here mapping business will close on Friday, four months after it was first announced, the Finnish vendor revealed on Thursday.

The transaction has received all regulatory approvals and will close ahead of schedule, Nokia said.

It had originally expected completion in the first quarter of next year.

After months of speculation on the future of the business, Nokia announced a €2.8 billion deal to sell Here to a consortium of German car makers in August. The group includes Audi, BMW and Daimler.

The car makers reportedly fought off interest from a number of other parties, including Faceboo k, taxi-booking app maker Uber, and Chinese search giant Baidu.

At the time, Audi, BMW and Daimler said that no member of the consortium would seek majority control of Here. They also pledged to offer mapping and location products to any customer.
