CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems), creator of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks, today announces the strengthening of its senior management team with the appointment of Martin Stephenson as Chief Financial Officer, and Paul Williams as VP Operations.

Martin Stephenson joins CCS as CFO and brings over 20 years’ experience in corporate financial management, revenue growth strategies, M&A and fund-raising.

Prior to CCS, he was CFO at Cambridge Semiconductor, where he helped restructure the business and oversee its eventual sale. He was previously CFO at technology companies Polatis and Liquavista, where he directed fund raising and established new operations in Asia. Earlier, he worked in the automotive sector for Pi Group – supporting revenue growth from £8-£25 million and sale of the business to Ford – and Cosworth, where he oversaw the turnaround from loss-making to successful sale. Martin is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

New VP Operations Paul Williams is tasked with focusing on manufacturing and RMA as part of gener al operational responsibilities.

He brings over 20 years’ international experience in the telecoms manufacturing sector, with extensive connections amongst ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers) and the supply chain throughout Europe and Asia. His executive management experience includes a CTO role where he developed a high-end mobile phone, and the position of COO at UN Cells, a luxury mobile phone company partnered with a prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer. Prior to this, he was the Manufacturing Director for Vertu, the luxury mobile phone company set up by Nokia. Earlier, he held a number of senior production, operations and quality management roles at Nokia Mobile Phones.
