Spain’s football league on Thursday announced that it has awarded the rights to broadcast top and second-flight football matches for the next three seasons for a total of €2.65 billion.

Two companies picked up exclusive rights to various lots of games. The lion’s share went to production company Mediapro, which will pay €1.9 billion for the privilege.

Incumbent telecoms operator Telefonica picked up €750 million worth of content rights via its DTS Distribuidora de Television Digital business.

The rights begin with the 2016-2017 season, and include the top two leagues as well as the Copa del Rey.

La Liga said the bids exceeded the reserve price, but did not disclose what its minimum price was.

There are still other deals to be done for football rights in Spain, La Liga said. It will hold a meeting to decide on an allocation process for remaining lots.
