Telekom Austria on Monday announced the acquisition of Amis, a provider of fixed-line telephony, broadband and IPTV services in Slovenia and Croatia.
The purchase will add fixed-line operations to Si.mobil, Telekom Austria’s Slovenian mobile business, while boosting its fixed customer base in Croatia and giving it access to a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network.
The telco did not disclose the price of the deal, but said it will finance it from cash flow.
"With the acquisition of Amis, we can further grow our fixed line business, which is currently experiencing a strong revival," said Telekom Austria CEO Hannes Ametsreiter.
As a result of the deal, the Telekom Austria group can offer fixed and mobile telephony, broadband Internet and TV services from a single source in six of its eight markets, he added.
Amis serves around 86,000 customers across Slovenia and Croatia. It generated revenues of €41 million last year.
It is currently owned by Iris Capital, Kebek Private Equity and its own management.
"We are looking forward to creating synergies and exchanging experiences, especially with Si.mobil and Vipnet," said Amis CEO Boštjan Košak.
"Our customers will profit from an expanded product range and premium quality moving forward," he said.
The deal requires approval by the relevant competition authorities.
