Australian incumbent confirms Vish Nandlall’s departure after local press report claims he falsified his CV.

Telstra has parted company with its chief technology officer in what appear to be controversial circumstances.

Vish Nandlall, who has served as the Australian incumbent’s tech chief for less than two years, has left the firm, a Telstra spokesperson confirmed to Total Telecom on Friday, without providing additional details.

Nandlall was asked to leave when it emerged that he had falsified information on his CV, The Australian reported on Friday.

The paper also said Nandlall faces allegations of plagiarising presentation material.

As yet, there has been no official announcement from Telstra, but Nandlall’s details are now absent from the telco’s Website.

Nandlall joined Telstra as CTO in August 2014, having previously served as chief technology officer and head of strategy and marketing for Ericsson in North America.

His employment history also includes the best part of two decades at former technology powerhouse Nortel Networks.

He replaced Telstra’s long-standing CTO Hugh Bradlow, who now serves as the company’s chief scientist, a role that sees him act as an advisor to the board and CEO on longer-term technology trends and disruption.
