Charity-championing MVNO offers 2 GB of data on 30-day, SIM-only contract.

The People’s Operator (TPO) on Tuesday launched its first U.K. 4G tariff.

Available initially to new customers only, the SIM-only price plan costs £6.99 per month on a 30-day rolling contract, and comes with 2 GB of data, 600 voice minutes and unlimited texts.

As with all of the MVNO’s tariffs, 10% of the cost goes to a charity of the customer’s choice.

"This is another important milestone on our journey to help people use their mobile to make a big difference," said Mark Epstein, CEO and co-founder of The People’s Operator, in a statement.

"Now, even more people can save when they switch to TPO and, at the same time, support a cause they care about," he said.

The People’s Operator said it plans to launch more 4G plans for new and existing customers from July.

The company launched in the U.K. in 2012 and offers services via EE’s network.

In 2014, Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales bought a stake in TPO and became its co-chairman.

TPO arrived in the U.S. in July 2015, piggybacking on Sprint’s network.
