Vodafone on Monday signed a partner market agreement with DoCoMo Pacific that will see the telcos jointly offer services to businesses and consumers in the Pacific islands of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).

The deal sees DoCoMo Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s NTT DoCoMo, benefit from Voda’s best practice and product and service portfolio. As for the U.K.-based telco giant, it extends the reach of its international managed services for corporate customers.

"With the combination of our parent company NTT DoCoMo and our new partnership with Vodafone, we are best positioned to bring the people of Guam a truly superior customer experience complete with a world class network, products and services," said Jonathan Kriegel, CEO of DoCoMo Pacific, in a statement.

Monday’s agreement with DoCoMo Pacific puts the number of Vodafone Pa rtner Markets at 54. Recent additions include Vietnam and Canada.

"We are pleased to expand the strategic partnership with out Japanese partner NTT DoCoMo to include Guam and the CNMI," said Stefano Gastaut, CEO of Vodafone Partner Markets. "This will boost our presence in Asia-Pacific and extend the reach of Vodafone’s services in the region."
