Integrated, cloud-based solution designed to help telcos enhance their SME services.
WiFi quality-of-experience (QoE) specialist XCellAir on Tuesday partnered with virtual networking provider Benu Networks with a view to enabling their telco customers to offer advanced managed WiFi services to SMEs.
"This partnership with Benu is a great milestone for our company and is part of the vision we have for the future of WiFi," declared XCellAir founder Todd Mersch, in a statement.
The agreement will see XCellAir’s cloud-based WiFi optimisation software, called XCellRAN, integrated with Benu’s Virtual Service Edge (VSE), which puts CPE management into the cloud.
The intended objective is that telcos can use it to go beyond basic connectivity, putting automated, self-optimising WiFi services within reach of corporate clients that lack the budget or expertise to do it themselves.
"The XCellRAN solution is highly complementary to our virtualised platform to allow us to deliver scalability and elasticity for operators to cost effectively address the SoHo, SMB and SME markets," said John De Pietro, vice president of product management at Benu Networks.
