3 Group on Monday selected Cisco Jasper’s connectivity management platform to underpin its global IoT services.

From mid-2017, the Hong Kong-based telco’s enterprise customers will have access to Cisco Jasper’s Control Center solution, either locally through 3’s various national networks, or globally through Hue, 3 Group’s mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) division.

"This partnership will put 3 at the heart of the global IoT marketplace and offers huge potential to our enterprise customers," said Hue CEO Jarrod Nink.

"Speed, flexibility and control are key to powering connected devices on a global scale," he said. "Through our global footprint of high-speed mobile networks built for mobile data, and Cisco Jasper’s powerful platform, our customers will enjoy an edge in the IoT market for years to come."

3 said it sees particularly lucrative opportunities in the connected car, building security and automation, and transportation and logistics sectors.

"Innovative enterprises in every industry are already utilising Control Center today to enhance their customers’ IoT experiences and generate new, ongoing revenue sources," said Kalle Ward, managing director, EMEAR, IoT cloud at Cisco Jasper.

"We are delighted that the 3 Group, with its high-speed mobile networks built for data, and its multinational footprint, has selected Cisco Jasper as its partner to deliver IoT simplicity."
