Following the completion of its DirecTV acquisition, AT&T on Monday launched what it claims is the U.S.’s first nationwide, converged TV and mobile price plan.
Called ‘All in One’, the bundle offers a high-definition (HD) and digital video recorder (DVR) service to up to four TV receivers, unlimited voice minutes and texts for up to four mobile devices, and 10 GB of shareable mobile data.
"Today is the first of many planned moves to enable our customers to enjoy a premium entertainment experience almost anywhere," said Brad Bentley, chief marketing officer of AT&T’s entertainment and Internet services division, in a statement.
"We’re going to deliver more TV and entertainment choices to more screens – when and where our customers want it. And we’ll offer incredible value with more flexibility and convenience through our integrated packages that deliver a great experience," he said.
All in One will go on sale on 10 August. As part of the launch, customers who sign up in-store can download a mobile TV app and immediately begin watching DirecTV content while they wait for their TV service to be activated at their home.
Understandable, the premium-grade service offered by All in One does not come cheap, with fees starting at $200 per month. That price includes a 12-month promotional discount of $10 per month.
