24 million contracts will see U.K. incumbent deliver cloud services to 52 European institutions.

BT on Tuesday announced two framework agreements with the European Commission that will see the U.K. incumbent deliver cloud services to 52 EU institutions.

Signed in December, the contracts run for up to four years and have a combined value of €24 million. Under the framework deals, BT will implement private cloud services, and will also be eligible to bid for public cloud projects.

Hosted in data centres across the EU, they will serve dozens of EU agencies, including the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Defence Agency, among others.

"This is a milestone in our journey to be the leading global cloud services integrator," said Corrado Sciolla, president of Europe and global telecom markets at BT Global Services, in a statement. "I’d like to take this opportunity to, once again, thank the EU for putting its trust in BT."

Indeed, these were the third and fourth European Commission framework deals secured by BT in 2015.

In August, the telco signed a framework contract worth €15.2 million over seven years that covers voice services delivered to 21 EU institutions, agencies and bodies. This followed a five-year framework deal BT won in March, which covers dedicated Internet access to all major EU institutions across all member states, and is worth €55.7 million over five years.
