Network operator pledges significant investments over next 12 months, appoints senior execs from BT, Verizon, Level 3.
Colt this week said it is undertaking a sweeping transformation, strengthening its focus on providing high-bandwidth connectivity for enterprises making the shift to cloud-based storage and applications.
In a statement on Monday, the company pledged to make "significant investments" over the next 12 months that will improve its network and the customer experience. Colt also announced three new appointments tasked with leading its transformation.
Tom Regent will take on the role of chief commercial officer from 19 September. He joins from BT Global Services, where he served as president of global banking and financial markets – an industry vertical that demands reliable, secure, and high-bandwidth connectivity. He has also held various roles at AT&T. He will report to Colt CEO Carl Grivner.
"[Colt] is implementing a bold new strategy to tap into the demand for mission critical high bandwidth across Europe and Asia. I am excited to be part of the team who will drive this transformation," Regent said.
Colt also named former Verizon executive Paula Coogan as vice president of enterprise and partner sales in Europe, and Level 3’s Tim Passingham, who will become vice president of wholesale sales in Europe.
"We employ the best talent globally, and through our business transformation Colt is challenging the industry incumbents who have large networks but are slow to respond to needs of businesses," said Colt CEO Carl Grivner.
"We know that the telecommunications industry is not customer focused, and we use experience and customer insight to lead the way, providing a level of personalised service that business customers expect," he said.
