Shenzhen China – February 14, 2022 – Fibocom (Stock Code: 300638), a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, launches the new LTE Cat 4 module L716-EU. The high-value wireless communication module unlocks new possibilities for IoT applications such as industrial gateway, public security, IPC, MiFi, etc.
According to ABI Research, the adoption of LTE technology remains dominant for IoT applications worldwide, ranging from high (Cat 12 to Cat 20) to low bandwidth (Cat 1 to Cat 4). Unlike 2G and 3G, LTE is not under the threat of network sunset, which is a universal choice for many IoT devices. Therefore, the market prospect for 4G LTE will still remain strong for a while. Fibocom’s newly launched LTE Cat 4 module L716-EU is to bring cost-effective and reliable LTE connectivity for the IoT industry.
The Fibocom L716-EU module supports LTE-TDD/ LTE-FDD network as well as WCDMA/ GSM fallback, delivering a maximum downlink rate of Cat 4 150 Mbps and an uplink rate of 50 Mbps. The module adopts a LCC+LGA form factor, with the size of 32.0*29.0*2.4mm, which is compatible with Fibocom’s NL668 and L610 modules, enabling customers to migrate between different technologies.
Along with abundant functionalities such as VoLTE, MUX, DFOTA and digital audio, Fibocom’s L716-EU module supports multiple operating systems (Linux/ Android/ Windows), various Internet protocols as well as industry-standard interfaces including SIM, USB, UART, etc., allowing much flexibility and ease of integration. At present, the commercial samples of L716-EU are available for customers.
“Fibocom is pleased to launch the new LTE Cat 4 module L716-EU,” said Jason Zhu, Director of IoT Product Line, Fibocom. “We are committed to helping the digital transformation for the industry, and our innovative wireless communication modules will enable seamless connectivity for all.”
