Press Release

Data centre operator Next Generation Data (NGD) today announced colocation and wholesale Internet service and infrastructure provider, Hub Network Services (HNS), is now offering BT Wholesale’s latest optical network services.

The 10Gb port connection at NGD’s south Wales facility will enable HNS to offer its enterprise customers greater choice as they look for increased and more cost-effective bandwidth as well as maximum resilience and security.

NGD recently became one of the first data centres outside London to go live with the new BT Wholesale optical services and follows its selection three years ago as BT’s first 21CN data centre PoP.

Commented John Volanthen, CEO, Hub Network Services: “Our BT Wholesale Optical and Optical Connect National direct service connection at NGD will ensure HNS responds effectively to the growing data traffic challenges of our local and international customers. They are continuously striving to optimise bandwidth for increased network performance, while ensuring utmost security and reliability.”

“NGD is delighted that HNS has become one of our first channel partners to offer BT Wholesale’s new optical network services,” said Nick Razey, CEO, NGD. "As one of their strategic international data centre partners HNS depends on NGD’s secure and resilient facility for providing as many high quality, low latency carrier, ISP and cloud connectivity options as possible.”

Delivering 10Gb, nx10Gb and 100Gb Ethernet symmetric point to point connectivity, BT Wholesale Optical and Optical Connect National services offer high resilience, flexibility and scalability and feature secure, uncontended bandwidth with zero jitter and packet loss.
