Guylain Barlow, Senior Product Line Manager at VIAVI Solutions joined us at Submarine Networks EMEA to share his perspectives on the subsea cable industry. He talked to Total Telecom about technology trends and how to reduce the CAPEX and OPEX associated with cable installation. He spoke about the approaches and importance of measuring Optical Signal to Noise Ratio (OSNR), and a new technique being pioneered called spectral correlation measurements which allows OSNR to be measured in all situations.
