Press Release
Interop Technologies, a global provider of advanced communication networks and cloud-based managed services, today announced that Illinois Valley Cellular, a local wireless provider serving eight counties in the Illinois Valley area, has selected Interop’s hosted Rich Communications Services (RCS) solution to quickly and efficiently enable rich messaging for their subscribers.
RCS supports enhanced features for mobile messaging, like instant message, 1-to-1 and group chat, audio messaging, video calling, location sharing and file transfer. Interop’s RCS solution is a complete end-to-end rich messaging solution, compliant with GSMA’s latest Universal Profile (UP) 1.0 specifications and built to support native-capable RCS handsets through the Interop Cloud™. Enabling peer-to-peer (P2P) communications among other RCS-enabled operators or cloud providers, Interop’s RCS solution delivers service ubiquity for users globally.
“We recognized the value that rich messaging would bring to our subscribers, while starting our path to revenue-generating services. It was very important to us that we were on the front end of its growth,” said Bobby Kaminski, Director of Product Development at Illinois Valley Cellular. “Interop’s technical expertise and agility has enabled us to accomplish this goal by facilitating deployment and implementation of their RCS solution in a matter of weeks. Now that we are connected to the Interop Cloud, we are excited to see how enhanced messaging and Messaging-as-a-Platform (MaaP) will evolve over the next year.”
“We are committed to helping operators like Illinois Valley Cellular transition from the legacy networks of today into the networks of tomorrow through our cloud-based IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) solutions, like RCS,” said Steve Zitnik, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Interop Technologies. “As technology continues to move at a rapid pace, new service launches for operators will need to be launched even faster, so Interop provides better ways to facilitate the agility and reach that is needed for them to remain relevant and capitalize on new revenue-generating services like MaaP.”
Interop Technologies will be exhibiting at Stand #S.956 from September 12 -14 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress Americas in San Francisco.
