With the coronavirus pandemic rapidly redefining ‘business as usual’, digital solutions have been thrust into the spotlight. But is this enough to accelerate the business world’s digital transformation?
From remote working to network automation, the coronavirus pandemic has predicated a rapid response from the entire telecoms industry. The process to digitalisation has quickly evolved from a long-term goal to an imminent necessity, forcing telcos, as well as their customers, to rapidly accelerate their digitalisation plans.
In Total Telecom’s upcoming webinar, How has COVID-19 impacted the digital transformation agenda?, we explore exactly what challenges the industry has faced and, perhaps more importantly, what lasting changes overcoming these changes will bring for the future.
“From our preparation so far, I’ve heard some really interesting stories, and a lot of insight on what are likely to be lasting changes. My main challenge will be to manage the conversation to fit all the interesting stories in,” said moderator Andrew Collinson, partner and research director at STL Partners, in the run up to the webinar.
“The value adding practices emerged from COVID19 are connected to new ways of working increasing virtualization, social responsibility and safety – towards our society, customers and employees,” added Oana Krogh-Nielsen, VP Strategic Transformation, responsible for the technical split of TDC in 2 independent companies, Nuuday and TDC Net.
One key takeaway from the operators’ experience during the pandemic has been the rapid increase in digital awareness from their customers. As the world begins to recover from the viral crisis, customer demand for high quality, flexible digital services will be higher than ever.
“COVID 19 also accelerated digital awareness and broadband demand, and our target is to provide increasing performing, reliable and flexible digital services to cope with the needs of our customers,” explained Umberto Ferrero, VP 5G & Digital Transformation, TIM.
