Press Release

Sicap Schweiz AG, the global mobile device management vendor, announced today that MagtiCom LTD, Georgia’s largest provider of telecommunications, mobile and fixed telephony, fiber-optic internet, and satellite and IP television services has chosen Sicap’s Cloud-based Device Management Centre (DMC) to replace its existing platform.

The new solution provides MagtiCom with automated, over-the-air mobile device detection and configuration, an embedded self-care device configuration graphical user interface for its website, and equips its customer service agents with better tools for solving device setup problems remotely. This will enable the company to seamlessly connect its subscribers’ handsets on its network, deliver subscribers a faster problem resolution at its customer care centers, and provide users a flexible self-care experience on its website. The LTE device management capabilities will help the company to grow revenues in the LTE service segment.

LTE mobile broadband services are the most significant growth market for mobile operators in Georgia – 40% of the subscriptions are yet to be enabled with LTE according to GSMA Intelligence.

"To secure continued LTE growth, we decided to replace our platform with Sicap’s Device Management Centre to get up-to-date device data and settings for all handset models, and to automate device configuration for our subscribers," Shota Gvinianidze, Information Technology Consultant at MagtiCom explained. "The Cloud-based solution, hosted and operated by Sicap was deployed quickly, in just two months, and, the launch was painless – it didn’t cause any service degradation for our subscribers!", Gvinianidze concludes.

"Sicap is proud to expand its partnership with MagtiCom and to support their future LTE growth in Georgia," Richard Choi, Chief Executive Officer at Sicap says. "MagtiCom’s decision to choose Sicap DMC further cements our leading position in the global Device Management markets and proves that our team can deliver robust hosted Cloud solutions quickly and cost-efficiently to operators worldwide," Choi concludes.
