5G-Ready Carrier SDN Platform
SK Telecom developed an open source Carrier SDN Platform that offers enterprise-class network services, including cloud VPN, SD-WAN, bandwidth on-demand (BoD) and others. It extended the platform into a multi-carrier environment by working with wholly-owned subsidiary SK Broadband, developing and commercially deploying the 5G-ready Carrier SDN Platform on the latter’s network. The platform provides the operational teams at SK Telecom and SK Broadband with simplification of operation through abstraction, real-time optimization and design of network resource, centralization of network control and real-time optical signal quality measurement.
SK Broadband said the Carrier SDN Platform improved its service, traffic and inventory management schemes by creating standardised and automated processes, giving it access to key network information by logging into a single platform.
