Sessions will showcase how the future for IoT/M2M applications can be secured with insight from key industry players, SDOs and Government institutions comprising of DOT, TEC, C-DOT, ETSI, ITU and TSDSI
Sophia Antipolis, France, and New Delhi, India, 27 August 2019: As Government of India continues to deliver on its vision to build Digital India with ambitious programmes such as 100 smart cities, oneM2M, C-DOT, TSDSI and ETSI will bring together key Internet of Things (IoT) actors for a conference at the C-DOT campus, in New Delhi. The conference will look at how to secure an open future for IoT/M2M applications. The conference is co-organised by C-DOT, TSDSI and ETSI, supported by the EU-India project and Indico.
Focusing on how a standardised framework can enable a safer and smarter future, the two-day workshop which begun on August 26 until August 27, 2019, is addressing how interoperability is crucial to accelerate IoT deployments to fulfil a variety of use cases.
Formally opened by Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technologies of India, the discussions will be chaired by Shri Vipin Tyagi, Executive Director of C-DOT, which is supporting the adoption of IoT technologies in India. Participants from government institutions, corporations, SMEs and start-ups as well as user communities will highlight through real-world use cases and implementations how oneM2M addresses issues triggered by the development of smart cities and IoT enabled applications are facing.
“This collaboration between Europe and India brings in a new era for IoT, with a big step towards a global adoption of oneM2M, the common IoT standard. Interoperability, security, data management and sharing, privacy are no more an issue with oneM2M common service layer, and the deployment of smart cities that are scalable and cost-efficient is becoming immediately feasible,” says Enrico Scarrone, Chairman of the Steering Committee of oneM2M.
India’s Smart Cities Mission addresses India’s rising urban population and aims to modernise 100 cities through digitalisation across the country to make them citizen-friendly and sustainable. This digital transformation will provide India with smart solutions to infrastructure and other government services.
