With over 95% of voice and data traffic being carried over submarine networks, this infrastructure is crucial for supporting the global economy. Considering this development, the security of subsea cable systems has become a key talking point for the industry.
At Submarine Networks Europe 2018, Total Telecom TV caught up with Peter Jamieson, outgoing Chairman and new Vice-Chairman of the European Subsea Cables Association (ESCA) to discuss the importance of protecting our subsea cable infrastructure. ESCA, who’s membership includes cable owners, operators and suppliers, is primarily focussed on promoting marine safety and protecting subsea cable installations in European and surrounding waters.
