Press Release
Leading fleet & insurance telematics provider Scope Technology has announced an innovative new deal with Mexico’s A3tek, to serve Telcel, Mexico’s largest wireless telecommunications provider with a three-year agreement that covers the domestic market in Mexico
The partnership is focused on Telcel’s fleet management services, which allows customers (fleet providers) access to Telcel’s wireless, real-time data network, which services over 90% of Mexico’s population. This technology provides fleet providers with vehicle monitoring, reporting and analysis tools, which allows them to measure vehicle usage and risk.
Under the partnership with A3tek, Telcel has implemented Scope Technology’s patented telematics platform, which enables fleet providers to produce more accurate vehicle monitoring, which includes fuel consumption, driver behaviour and distance / speed travelled, as well as providing drivers with a greater understanding of vehicle risk management, which promotes safer driving and accident reduction. The technology also includes a state-of-the-art response system, in the event of an emergency.
The deal aims to eliminate barriers to entry for fleet providers looking to adopt a telematics platform, and will make the solution more affordable. The partnership will help Telcel become a leading player within the Fleet Management market. Working alongside Scope Technology will also allow Telcel to strengthen its existing vehicle management system with industry-leading technology, and in turn increase revenue for the wider business.
As a mutually beneficial partnership, Scope Technology will also benefit by having in A3TEK a local partner capable of providing additional services on top of Scope Technology’s core solution. In addition, by increasing their foot print into the Latin American market, Scope have already outlined plans to expand the partnership into surrounding countries, being Colombia the first joint territory after Mexico with Claro. A3tek will provide on the ground support from a dedicated 24/7 customer response team. In addition, A3tek will provide installation services across the country, as well as pre-sales consulting for potential customers training for end-users and Stolen Vehicle Recovery services.
Commenting on the announcement, Monty Nussbaum, Chief Executive of Scope Technology said:
“This is a landmark deal for us, and really strengthens our footprint in the Latin American market. Telcel are a giant with the Mexican telecommunications market, and in time we hope the scope of the partnership will expand into surrounding territories. As a leader in their space, Telcel already have an incredibly strong technology offering, and we believe our product will compliment and strengthen this. We’re looking forward to working with both Telcel and A3tek in the coming years.”
