Openreach CEO Clive Selley Urges UK Government to Cut Broadband Red Tape

Openreach’s newly appointed CEO, Clive Selley, has called on the UK government to reduce the regulatory barriers hindering broadband rollout. In a recent blog post, Selley highlighted that despite the Project Gigabit funding, which aims to extend gigabit-capable broadband to thousands more premises, nearly a million homes could miss out due to outdated planning rules.

Quickline wins £60m Project Gigabit contract 

The UK government has awarded East Yorkshire-based ISP Quickline Communications £60 million in funding as part of the Government’s £5 billion Project Gigabit scheme.  The contract covers the rollout of full fibre to over 28,000 rural homes and businesses, primarily in West Yorkshire but also reaching some communities in North Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
