Turkish telco drops Avea, TTNet names in favour of single brand strategy.
Turk Telekom this week became the latest major telecoms operator to unify its various business lines under a single brand.
The Turkish incumbent announced on Tuesday that its Avea mobile operation and ISP and TV provider TTNet have both adopted the Turk Telekom name.
Effective on Wednesday, Turk Telekom is offering mobile, Internet, landline telephony and TV services under a single brand, with a single Website and call centre.
The telco said it has strengthened its position in the market with the new strategy, setting itself up as an integrated communications, technology and entertainment services provider.
It also introduced a new logo that it says reflects its customer focus.
Turk Telekom CEO Rami Aslan declared the change to be the start of "a new era" for Turk Telekom.
Beginning in April, the telco’s 206,000 km of fibre infrastructure will feed Turk Telekom’s 4.5G mobile network, Aslan said.
He also talked up Turk Telekom’s involvement in the establishment of a 5G roadmap, and its European football content rights and 4K TV service.
"Starting today, the ‘one telecom, Turk Telekom’ era begins," he said.
