Amid a group-wide restructuring, Vodafone UK has created two new roles at Vodafone UK: Network & Development Director and IT Director.

A restructuring at Vodafone Group will see the creation of a European Digital & IT team as well as an integrated European network. From a UK perspective, there will be three major changes.

Firstly, Scott Petty, who currently holds the position of UK CTO will become Group Director of Digital & IT, effective from 1st April. Scott’s tenure at Vodafone has seen him oversee the continued improvement of Vodafone’s UK network including rolling out 5G, implementing the Shared Rural Network and leading the company’s Open-RAN adoption.

Up next, Andrea Dona will become UK Network & Development Director. Andrea joined the organisation in March 2019 as Head of Networks and has played a key role in Vodafone’s 5G and fibre deployments in the UK.

Lastly, Ahmed El Sayed will become UK IT Director in addition to taking on the function leadership of Digital Engineering for the Group’s newly established European Digital & IT Team.

Both Andrea and Ahmed will join the board of Vodafone UK.

Commenting on the appointments, Ahmed Essam, CEO of Vodafone UK said: “The creation of these new roles in Vodafone UK is the next step in Vodafone’s creation of European-wide network and digital teams, with a common strategy that leverages our scale, and which Andrea and Ahmed can localise and implement for the UK market.

“Both Andrea and Ahmed have already achieved so much for Vodafone, and we are excited to see these two innovators lead the transformation in the UK.”
