What will be the impact of 5G? Comsof executed a study on FTTH-5G deployment for the FTTH Council Europe. It concluded that rolling out a converged network can save up to 85% of fiber deployment costs needed for a 5G network.
This is also the case in rural areas. However, here 5G will play a different role, as 5G can be used for a wide range of applications such as self-driving machines or connected cows.
