Ericsson beat off still competition from the likes of Alcatel-Lucent, and Cisco, Motorola, Qualcomm and ZTE to be named Best Brand in a category voted by the telecom industry. STEPHEN HALL Head of Marketing & Communications, Region Western and Central Europe picked up the trophy.

The second World Vendor Awards were presented in London on the 5 May 2011. Almost 200 executives from telecom industry gathered to see both major and niche market vendors rewarded for their innovation and excellence. The winners were rewarded for products and services offering innovative solutions in areas such as cloud, VoIP and femtocells, solutions addressing green issues or serving emerging markets, and for their overall excellence as a vendor or a brand. Big winners from the night included Alcatel-Lucent, IMImobile, and Comviva Technologies. The World vendor Awards were sponsored by professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, next-generation network solution provider, Ipanema Technologies and ICT services company, CITIC Telecom CPC. The awards are organised by Total Telecom.
