Press Release
Hyperoptic today announces that it has appointed James Fredrickson as its new Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs. James will report directly into Richard Woodward, Hyperoptic’s CFO.
James has unparalleled experience in understanding and navigating the UK’s ‘alt-net’ industry. He joins from Gigaclear, where he spent four years running its policy and regulatory affairs. Prior to that he spent five years at Vodafone within its regulatory division.
With a depth of knowledge across fixed and mobile, as well as experience representing two of the UK’s largest and well-established alt-nets, James is one of the UK’s leading figures in addressing the challenges of accelerating full fibre rollout. At Hyperoptic, James will lead the policy and regulatory affairs function, and provide strategic council to the executive leadership team on enhancing relations with Ofcom and central government.
Richard Woodward, CFO, Hyperoptic: “As we scale our business, it’s important that we have the right skills and voice to help ensure that the conditions remain favourable for us to continue our significant investment in the future of the UK’s digital infrastructure and deliver much needed full fibre connectivity to customers across the UK. I am delighted to have James on board and his skills and relationships will prove instrumental as we expand our network footprint across the UK.”
James Fredrickson, Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Hyperoptic: “I’m excited to join Hyperoptic at such a pivotal time in its development. Accelerated full fibre rollout will play a critical role in enabling the Government’s Levelling Up agenda and Hyperoptic is ideally placed to support that ambition.”
