Press Release

Amdocs has today announced the completion of a project that helps ensure the privacy of customers’ data for Sunrise, the largest private service provider in Switzerland offering mobile, fixed, broadband internet and TV services. Working with the SecuPi data-protection platform, Amdocs completed the project, covering 17 use cases across 12 systems, within just 11 weeks, enabling Sunrise to rapidly meet increasing customer expectations and regulations around cyber security and data protection.

Helping to drive the quick implementation of the Amdocs and SecuPi solution at Sunrise, was the fact that this project did not require any changes to the code in Sunrise’s core systems, and is easily adaptable for the company’s future requirements. The solution enables Sunrise to provide its enterprise clients with the tools and capabilities to select the access levels and permissions for specific sets of data, ensuring the privacy they need.

Elmar Grasser, CTO at Sunrise, said: “At Sunrise, customers’ data protection has the highest priority. Security and data protection is a complex global issue, and Amdocs was able to fulfil our requirements, ensuring peace of mind for our enterprise clients and their customers.”

Due to growing consumer concerns around privacy, government bodies around the world are looking into how they can better regulate the commercial use of customer data. This has resulted in a wide range of new regulations being planned and implemented in different regions, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe, the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) in Brazil, the Personal Data Protection Bill (PDPB) in Thailand and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Gary Miles, chief marketing officer, Amdocs said that: “Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are increasingly compelled to become leaders in security and data protection due to the amount and sensitive nature of the data that they process for customers. Sunrise is leading the way in how to manage the privacy of customer data in Switzerland and in Europe, and we’re proud to be their trusted partner on this journey.”
