Press Release

NEC Europe will present how its advanced Smart City solution improves the daily operation and coordination of multiple city services, bolstering security and ultimately improving the Quality of Life (QoL) for residents, at the Connected Europe 2017 event taking place at SANA Lisboa Hotel in Portugal, during October 11 and 12.

Mr.João Paulo Fernandes, General Manager of NEC Portugal, will give a keynote session on “Digital Transformation Meets Cities” on Thursday, October 12 at 14:50.

At the NEC booth, the service provider will showcase how real-time data collection and analysis of information from around the city contributes to the swift provision of municipal services. The cutting edge NEC Cloud City Operation Centre (CCOC) has been awarded by the Municipality of Lisbon to become part of its Municipal Service Operation Center.

The CCOC solution is also able to reduce the work load at monitoring centers, by automating the public analysis of cities, and by reducing the public operational costs using technology to crunch and visualize the data, while city planners can focus on taking decisions for the public welfare.

Mr. Jaime Serrano, General Manager and CEO at NEC Iberica, commented, "Connected Europe in Lisbon is the ideal venue for NEC to showcase its solutions for helping cities gain unprecedented control over the scale, scope and speed of their municipal services, helping to ensure a superior citizen satisfaction."

Connected Europe provides the perfect space for stakeholders to come together to understand how they can hit new connectivity targets, deliver socioeconomic benefits and network with the evolving and growing broadband ecosystem.
