Press Release
NetBit Electronics has developed a new Eco-friendly 24W PSU platform for a European Tier 1 Operator. NetBit is the leader in CPE power supplies with a particular focus on optimizing the connected experience. The innovative NBS24N platform has been created with current and future eco-design considerations in mind, whilst exceeding the latest energy efficiency standards. The plastic casing of the power supply will be produced using a minimum of 50% PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastics in an attempt to lead the adoption of eco-friendly materials within the PSU industry. This design is also built with halogen-free components and materials which eliminates the use of toxic flame retardants in line with JEDEC and IEC standards.
NetBit recognises the problems that plastics have been causing to the environment and has decided to take the necessary steps to help eliminate the knock-on effects of their use by introducing eco-friendly measures company-wide. NetBit’s goal is to demonstrate to the industry that PCR plastic can be used to manufacture CPE power supplies without compromising safety, robustness, or the user experience.
"We’re excited to be the first company to offer customers eco-design solutions for CPE power supplies and packaging. We have a responsibility to do everything we can to lead our industry through this critical change towards sustainable and greener solutions." Sandy McLaren, NetBit’s Global Account Manager
