Nokia on Monday renewed a major framework agreement with Ooredoo that covers both hardware and professional services.
The five-year deal will see the Finnish vendor supply 2G, 3G, 4G and LTE-Advanced equipment as well as services across Ooredoo’s operating footprint. Under the renewed agreement, Nokia has agreed to implement global best practices in terms of service delivery and technology.
"Working with Nokia, Ooredoo has designed and built a range of leading-edge networks that enable us to enrich our customers’ lives," said Ahmed Al-Derbesti, COO of Ooredoo, in a statement.
Indeed, Nokia recently won a deal to supply Ooredoo with hardware for its nationwide small cell deployment in Qatar.
The kit maker was also chosen as one of Ooredoo’s suppliers for its 3G network in Myanmar.
"We value our long-term partnership with Ooredoo, and are committed to helping it provide world-class voice and data services, and meet burgeoning data demand," said Ashish Chowdhary, EVP and chief business officer at Nokia.
"With our latest innovations we will support Ooredoo to prepare for the huge data demand, and provide high-speed data services with improved network coverage, in addition to clearer voice call services," he said.
