Press Release
New Zealand originated ad tech company Postr has launched a new launcher (lock screen) app with Indonesian telecom giant Hutchison 3 Indonesia (H3I) and local SI company AQN to offer internet data to its large Android user base.
Contrary to popular belief, H3I is the 3rd largest carrier in Indonesia with 55.5 million subscribers in July 2016, as reported by indonesia-investments.com. The app, called Aladin, allows H3I’s mobile phone customers to receive personalised offers and deals on their Android lock screens, which in turn sponsor mobile data from H3I for the app users.
“Mobile internet access has recently over-taken desktop usage, and people are increasingly communicating with each other through apps, learning, researching, job hunting and more via mobile internet. Aladin will allow millions of people to access data from their phones, which is an excellent outcome,” Postr chief executive Milan Reinartz says.
Postr’s collaboration with H3I is the company’s first official entry into the South East Asian telecommunications market. “Indonesia is a fast developing country with SEA’s largest population and many people here are accessing the internet for the first time on their smartphones. So it’s a great market to be in and bring sponsored mobile data to consumers with our partners,” Reinartz says.
Reinartz says the sponsored advertising content is relevant and targeted to individual mobile phone users, who can choose whether to engage with it or not and will receive sponsored data regardless.
H3I is enthusiastic about its partnership with Postr because the Aladin app benefits its mobile phone subscribers and helps advertisers to foster links with a broad audience.
Sudheer Chawla, DGM VAS and Digital Services of H3I, says “We are excited about the partnership with Postr and AQN, which will create value for users and advertisers alike, connecting them in a meaningful way. Our network’s strong smartphone penetration creates a great base for the offering.”
Indonesian systems integrator Asia Quattro Net (AQN) is Postr’s business partner in Indonesia. AQN manages Postr’s business development, technical support and integration set-up besides doing direct ad sales for Aladin.
Postr has existing partnerships with its first white-label app, Skinny Collect with Skinny Mobile in New Zealand and a recent launch with Australian tier one carrier Optus. Postr has recently opened offices in Singapore and Australia.
