RATEL asks interested parties to share details of their planned use of fixed wireless frequencies.

Serbia’s telecoms regulator has invited interested parties to submit applications for spectrum between 3.4 GHz and 3.8 GHz.

The Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) made the announcement on Monday, giving companies 20 days to lodge their applications.

Bidders must specify whether they are seeking spectrum in the 3.4 GHz-3.6 GHz band, the 3.6 GHz-3.8 GHz band, or both. They must also state the bandwidth they require, a single frequency block being 5 MHz, and give details of the regions they plan to cover.

The spectrum is suitable for fixed wireless services and similar, RATEL said. It requires applicants to explain what service they aim to offer using the spectrum, how many base stations they will roll out, and how many customers they expect to attract.

They must also give a predicted timeframe for network rollout, from the date of the issuance of a licence.
