Press Release

Simwood Group PLC, the innovation-driven wholesale and channel telephony provider, has today announced that founder and Chief Executive Officer, Simon Woodhead, will move to the role of Executive Chairman, after 25 years in post. This position change enables him to prioritise family commitments, whilst leaving the day-to-day business in safe hands.
Appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer is Grahame Davies. Davies has been with Simwood since 2013 as an advisor before becoming the non-exec Chairman in 2014 and more recently in an executive role as Chief Operating Officer. As the pioneering co-founder of Demon Internet, his impressive track record includes the position of Managing Director for Easynet overseeing around 450 employees and leading the company as it joined the stock market.

Simon Woodhead said, “I’m really privileged to have a strong Board and Senior Management Team, as well as 30 plus wonderful colleagues. Given this and personal challenges this is the appropriate time for me to hand over the reins and I’m confident Grahame will bring a fresh approach that’ll lead the business to bigger and better places. I won’t be retiring into the background but this seems an appropriate time anyway to express huge gratitude to every member of the Simwood team (past and present) and to all our great customers for their support so far. It may be my name, but they make Simwood what it is.”

Grahame Davies said, “I feel an enormous sense of duty and responsibility to Simwood and each of its staff and customers in taking up this role. I’m looking forward to working with all colleagues in the next phase of the company’s journey. In particular, I especially look forward to working closely with Charles Chance, Chief Technical Officer, as the company drives forward building on its already established technical and innovative approach. I will be reaching out to our valued customer base to establish, renew and replenish relationships and to refine existing services and collaborate on our exciting roadmap.”

Grahame will formally take up the role of CEO from 18th October 2021
