TDC has launched a strategic review of its IT business TDC Hosting that could result in a sale of the division.
The unit provides businesses with cloud-based IT services, Web hosting, cyber security, and hosted applications and services including email and Microsoft Office. It employs around 300 staff and in 2014 generated revenue of 500 million kroner (€66.9 million).
"TDC is conducting a strategic review of TDC Hosting," said TDC, in a statement on Monday. "The strategic review may or may not lead to a sale of TDC Hosting. There can be no assurance when such a sale will occur, if at all."
Sydbank analyst Morten Imsgard said in a report by Reuters that TDC Hosting needs a large buyer that is already in the hosting market.
"As TDC Hosting is a very small division it is not surprising that TDC is considering if the division would be better off with another owner," he added.
TDC Hosting is part of the Danish incumbent’s business services division, which in 2014 generated revenue of DKK6.4 billion, or 27% of group revenue.
