Press Release

NextGen announced today that the 2017 Digital Challenge Awards will feature a Connected Britain Award. This award category will represent the UK’s most innovative and best Urban and Rural Access Networks, previously represented as two distinct NextGen Awards categories.

David Brunnen, Co-founder of the Digital Challenge Award programme commented: "Every year we adapt the programme to reflect current practice. With the UK now focused on the race to invest in high capacity ‘full fibre’ technology for fixed networks and to support future 5G Mobile and other wireless services, the distinction between Urban and Rural deployments is fast fading. The overall Connected Britain award is indicative of this trend. "

Nominations for the 7th Annual Digital Challenge will close on April 28th. The Awards celebrate great transformative projects. The resultant case studies from Winners and Finalists are used by Universities and Colleges as learning resources for the next generation of graduates.

The programme is free to enter and is independently judged. Shortlisted Finalists for all Awards Categories will be announced at Total telecom’s Connected Britain conference on 14th June. Presentations will be made in October in Central London.
