Best known for running the .UK domain registry, at #ConnectedBritain Nominet were instead talking about TV White Space (TVWS) – the unlicenced frequency that was originally used by analogue TV.
CTO, Simon McCalla spoke to Total Telecom TV about the technology at the conference, how they had originally seen the opportunities as centring on IoT and connected cars, but how it was now proving it’s worth as an economical way to provide broadband for rural communities.
Simon spoke more about how TVWS was delivering surprisingly good connection speeds, the simplicity of the technology and the advantages it offers, and how it stacks up as an economical broadband solution.
Connected Britain will return to the larger venue of London’s Business Design Centre on the 19-20th June 2018. Find out more on the website.
