Press Release
Asia’s telecoms trailblazers celebrated their success at Total Telecom’s seventh annual Asia Communication Awards (www.asiacommsawards.com) in Singapore on Wednesday night.
The region’s senior industry figures gathered at the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel to enjoy an evening of entertainment and networking alongside the awards presentation.
"Tonight we recognised 19 award winners and three highly-commended organisations. But the winners are not just those who take a trophy home with them. All those who make the shortlist have been recognised by our respected panel of judges as leaders in their field; not just in Asia, but on the world stage as well," said Rob Chambers, managing director, Total Telecom.
Special mention must go to Ernest Cu, CEO of Globe Telecom, who scooped the coveted CEO of the Year award, which is decided by the readers of Total Telecom.
To decide the winners in the other categories, Total Telecom assembled a panel of expert judges, ably led by Janet Watkin, CEO of customer experience consultancy Ocean82. Based around the world, it was the judges’ job to evaluate every Asia Communications Award entry and select who they thought deserved to be victorious.
"Doing business has become more digital, global, social, and mobile, and the marketplace is vaster and more crowded than it has ever been. Alongside changes in technology and competition are the changing expectations and behaviour of customers. As such, making it onto the shortlist for the Asia Communication Awards is indeed a formidable achievement. To win requires that something extra special that is a cut above the rest. My thanks go to the judges for their effort and expertise in selecting tonight’s winners," said Watkin.
