Press Release
Total Telecom are delighted to announce the call for nominations for the 2017 World Communication Awards CEO of the Year.
This year we are seeking to add more rigor to the awarding of the prestigious CEO of the Year title and as a result are going to move from industry voting to assessment of the candidates by the World Communication Awards judging panel.
As previously, the category is open to Chief Executive Officers of all telecoms operators and service providers, including fixed, mobile and wholesale service providers and MVNOs. Nominees may be the overall CEO of a group, or CEO of a division or operating company. We will also consider individuals who are generally recognised as the CEO, even though they have a different job title – for example President. The nomination must be submitted from the CEO’s organisation, or recognised PR / communications agency working for the organisation.
To help the judges with their assessment, we are asking for more in-depth nomination statements, based on a dynamic set of criteria. We are lookig for a statement of up to 500 words explaining why the nominee should be CEO of the Year. Areas to consider could include, but are not limited to:
a. Leadership of the management team
b. Financial performance of the company or division
c. Reputational performance of the company
d. Change management
e. Company-wide motivation / company culture
f. Management of diversity
g. Technology innovation
h. Disruption handling
Companies are invited to nominate CEO candidates for consideration with the winning candidate being the CEO that the judges have deemed to provide outstanding leadership through their performance across multiple fields.
The winner will sit atop a shortlist of CEO’s that the judges deem have provided extremely good leadership of their organisation; it will not simply be the CEO of the biggest organisation.
The winner will be named at the WCA dinner in London on the 28 November 2017.
There is no cost to enter this category, but you must complete the nomination form by Friday 11 August 2017.
