F2i to invest €1bn in TIM’s NetCo 

Italian government-backed infrastructure fund F2i has announced that it will invest €1 billion in Telecom Italia (TIM)’s NetCo, acquiring a 10% stak in the newly spun off business. BT clears up pricing policy after Ofcom crackdown 

Following a recent Ofcom crackdown on broadband advertising and mid-contract price hikes, BT have confirmed that they will be adopting a simpler approach to their pricing models, starting from this summer. “Starting in early summer, we will introduce a pricing model consistent with Ofcom’s approach, moving away from % figures and CPI, and offering instead, a clear and simple view of any changes in “pounds and pence,” read the press release.

South Korean president backs semiconductor mega cluster investment 

The South Korean government has announced its support for plans to develop a new semiconductor production cluster just outside Seoul, as the country attempts to consolidate its chip production efforts. The cluster, which will be built across 21 million square metres of land, is expected to create 3 million jobs over the next twenty years, according to a report from the Yonhap news agency.
